- Age Verification
- A check to confirm that a bettor is of legal age to gamble, often done with ID documents.
- AML
- Anti‑Money Laundering – regulations and procedures designed to detect and prevent illegal funds from being used in betting.
- Asian Handicap
- A handicap system that eliminates the draw outcome and often uses half‑goal or quarter‑goal lines to reduce ties.
- Bankroll Management
- The practice of setting aside a specific amount of money for betting and deciding how much to stake on each wager.
- Bet Builder
- An online tool that lets you combine multiple markets from the same match into a single custom bet.
- Cash Out
- A feature that lets you settle a bet before the match ends, locking in a profit or limiting a loss.
- Double Chance
- A bet that covers two of the three possible match outcomes (win/draw, draw/away, or win/away) in one wager.
- Free Bet
- A promotional token you can use to place a bet without risking your own money, usually with any winnings (minus the stake) paid out.
- Futures
- A bet placed on an event that will be decided in the future, such as which team wins the World Cup.
- In-Play Betting
- Placing a bet on a match while it is already in progress, with odds that update as the game unfolds.
- KYC
- Know Your Customer – the process of verifying a bettor's identity to prevent fraud and ensure legal compliance.
- Moneyline
- A bet on which team will win the match, with odds shown as a positive or negative number indicating the favorite and underdog.
- Multi-Bet
- A bet that links several selections together, similar to a parlay, where each must win for a payout.
- Odds
- The probability or payout ratio that a sportsbook assigns to a particular outcome, shown as a number.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals scored in a match will be higher or lower than a set number.
- Parlay
- A single bet that combines two or more selections, all of which must win for the bet to pay out.
- Point Spread
- A handicap applied to the favorite team to level the betting field, requiring them to win by a certain margin.
- Prop Bet
- A side bet on a specific occurrence within a match, like which player scores first or how many yellow cards there will be.
- Push
- A tie result in a bet where the original stake is returned because the outcome exactly matched the line.
- Self-Exclusion
- A voluntary request to ban yourself from betting for a set period, after which access is blocked.
- Stake
- The amount of money you risk on a bet.
- Vig
- The commission or fee that a sportsbook charges for taking a bet, usually built into the odds.
- Void
- A bet that is cancelled and the stake refunded, often because a match was postponed or a rule was broken.
- Wagering Requirement
- A condition that requires you to bet a certain amount before bonus funds can be withdrawn.
